https://books2read.com/u/bzA2vn The Prince's Mate Just because it’s cold out, doesn’t mean things can’t get hot… In Alaska for a vacation, Zachary Adan, runs into a man who will change his life. All it takes is one night run on the slopes and everything he has known and believed is brought into question. Chase often comes to this resort when he wants to get away from his responsibilities. This time, he meets his mate and understands why he was drawn back so soon. During a night run, opposing forces attack them and sooner than he wished, he must reveal to Zach who he truly is; Prince Chamber Sept Mallo. Not only must he keep his mate alive so he can take his place on the throne, but he must also convince the man to stay with him for the rest of their lives. Easy, right? His Mate's Conversion Chase’s only way to save Zach’s life is to force the painful conversion. It hadn’t been done in years and the last time, the creature that had emerged had to be put down. This is different. This is Chase’s mate. However, Zach doesn’t recognize him on anything other than a molecular level. Will Chase rein in his mate’s anger and help him past this, or will he have to fight the man who is his savior? Claiming the Throne The time has come to claim his throne. Chase is ready for that battle, however, the one with his mate, is the one he's more concerned about. Zach is different and it worries him. Will he have to put down the man who is the other part of his soul, or will his mate learn to control the wildness within him and rule at his side? His One Everyone deserves someone to be his own Treymont McCarthy knew who his mate was, had since the moment he met him. However, seeing what his new king had had to go through with his mate, he’d not wanted to do that. He’d been alone for so long, he would survive. Danny Neal enjoyed life. He had plans but it was much easier to party and ignore any responsibility. When a shifter from his recent past shows up, he realizes there is more than just drinking and partying. There was also forever. Theirs is a different relationship, but when it’s all said and done, will he agree to be His One?

Gezi - Excerpt

How was she discovered? He touched Rao on the shoulder, careful to avoid contact with his wings. The Seraphim’s heavy sigh was felt deep in his bones. Angling his head, Gezi found himself locked by the Seraphim’s light blue gaze. She was in that frame there. Arms removed, throat slashed, wings and legs extended to the corners. Gezi tried to shut his mind on that vision but couldn’t quite succeed. He adjusted his stance and stared over the pooled blood there. There was tape across the top of the steps, and he knew the humans would be back to continue their investigation. Right now, one stood guard at the door. All of them were concealed from his sight. Who was with her? The prints in the blood, is this the one who mutilated and killed her? The humans believe this to be true, Zelus added as he stepped closer. No human could kill one of us. We agree. She had shed a diamond tear. That wouldn’t have happened had the human been the one inflicting the pain on her. Gezi glanced back down to the now securely wrapped form of Hacer. Diamond tears were not something his kind did easily. Once in a while they came across those believed to have the potential to be more, that their goodness and light superseded everything about them, even if the humans themselves were unaware. While they were unable to bestow upon them the life of their kind, a diamond tear, would allow others of Gezi’s kind to know this human was something unique and special. Personally, he wasn’t aware of all that happened once this had been done. I have not heard of this done in centuries. For Hacer to have done this… Where is the human? Being held in their jail. We cannot leave him there. All conversation stopped between those gathered and they all looked at him for his outburst. Gezi shook his head, refusing to back down. I have felt off all day, unable to relax, this, I must go to this human. Zelus and Elexus shared a look. Then go. We were going to head there later but if this is so strong of a call for you, go. Zelus’ tone was deep and almost comforting, even with his sharp edge. Without needing to be told once more, he did just that. Took to the sky once more and searched for the glow that would be around this human. The police station wasn’t difficult to find and making sure to remain invisible to human eyes, he landed and walked through the doors before positioning himself right outside the bars of the cell the human was in. He was alone in the cell, but there were others there, their loud raucous behavior not at all getting to the human who sat with his feet and legs pulled up on the bench with him. Gezi stepped through the bars when he recognized the blood on his hands. Human. The black haired head lifted and Gezi’s heart nearly stopped from the impact the dark brown eyes. Pain overflowed his gaze and Gezi moved toward the human before it even registered to him what he was doing. What did she do to me? I didn’t mean for her to die. I tried to save her. Gezi paused directly before the man and stared down at him. The blood was more than just on his hands, also his arms, jacket, shirt, jeans, and shoes. Look at me, human. Again, those eyes met his and Gezi sucked a harsh breath. All of the air had been taken from his lungs and it was a struggle to make that one happen. Did you touch her tear? “Yes, I wiped the tear from her face. I just wanted to stop the bleeding.” Gezi noticed the others around them watching with a mixture of concern and derision. He dropped his power that kept him from their sight and watched them all jump back. You are coming with me. Gezi flared his blood red wings, well aware of the sight it presented when he did. Take my hand. The first touch nearly took him to his knees, but he hid them both and took the human out of the prison. He didn’t think about it, just took him to where he felt safest on earth. Excerpt - Wrangling for His Love

Matthew pushed away from the wall and walked to him. “Not here. I’d prefer a spot where we’re not being watched and overheard.” “We’re always going to be watched.” At least, he was. Frustration flared in the man’s gaze. “Outside by the vehicles, at least?” “Sure.” That was it. Ben strode past him and led the way. By Debra’s SUV, he crossed his arms and rested his back to the side panel. “What’s on your mind?” “I wanted to apologize.” “For what?” “Calgary.” Ben shrugged. “What happened between us in Calgary?” Matthew tipped his head slightly to the right. “Going to be dense about it?” “Look, Jigs. I get that for you something like the racial crap isn’t common. Because you don’t choose to see it or you’re not around people who have it done to them often. Don’t know and I don’t care. To me, it’s a daily occurrence. So if there’s a specific incident you want to talk about, just fucking tell me because, quite honestly, they tend to blur into one big pile of shit I don’t give a fuck to reminisce about.” “I’m sorry for what happened to you. Yes, I should have said something, but I’m talking about what happened between us.” “What happened between us?” Ben understood that while incidents he faced due to the job he did could blur, he categorically knew every fucking one of his interactions with Matthew Jigs. And perhaps they had different ideas of something happening between them, but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what this man was going on about. Matthew glared at him. “You don’t remember?” “Wouldn’t be asking if I did.” The bullfighter moved closer and Ben realized his eyes weren’t just plain brown. There were flecks of green in them. “This is about claiming you have it all figured out.” Ben’s gut tightened. He’d been wrong, he really wasn’t ready for this. The determination in Matthew’s gaze threw him. How the hell could one man be so stubborn? Matthew stepped up to Ben, keeping enough distance between them so the people he had no doubt were stealing looks wouldn’t be able to tell how much he wanted to kiss this man on his lips. “That’s what I thought,” Matthew grumbled. “You toss out shit like that and walk away.” Ben uncrossed his arms from his wide chest. A chest Matthew would love to be held against. He was wiry while Ben was much more muscular, due to the difference in their jobs. He dreamed about sleeping against him, smoothing his hands over him. Being allowed to fucking touch. Dreams that didn’t have a place right now. The last thing he needed was to have cause to hide an erection pressing against his jeans. And he had to think of all the shit that pissed him off the second Ben licked his lips. “I’m sorry,” he said slowly. “Are you telling me that you’re needing to school me on how some things work with regards to the shit I go through?” “I’m telling you that just because you don’t see me out there swinging punches with you, which for the record I would have done if you’d let me know that shit was going down, but I digress. It doesn’t mean I am not on your side.” Ben opened his mouth only to close it again. He narrowed his eyes slightly then nodded. “Fine.” “Not buying it. What do you need from me? Want me to walk in with you? Hang out? Christ, tell me how to make it easier for you at the rodeos, Ben. I’ll do it.” His hands burned with the need to touch this man—for more than one reason. “We don’t hang out. We pass one another in the back and give head nods. We don’t hang out at the bar after. You’re with the other bullfighters and I’m off by myself if I go at all. I don’t know what you’re looking for, Jigs, but I’m not about to be your project ‘Make me feel good about myself’ because you saw me with a shiner. I get harder hits when I do my job.” “Fuck, you’re stubborn. All I hear is the proper way to say things to not offend someone. From you, from others, Jesus, I don’t know what to say!” “That’s the thing.” Ben shrugged. “I don’t need you to say anything.” Frustration nearly overwhelmed him. He was fucking this entire thing up and didn’t know how to recover. “Are you dating that Deacon guy?” Ben’s eyebrows shot up. “Wow, there’s a change. Wanting to be a friend and help me fight the shit I go through to assuming I’m gay and dating my friend’s brother.” “Just answer the fucking question.” Matthew shoved his hands in his pockets so he wouldn’t touch Ben. Once will never be enough for me. I know this and I had a hard enough time letting him go in Calgary. There I was looking at his bruise and had a reason to touch him without giving in to my desire. “No, I’m not dating him. Deacon is happy in his current relationship.” He couldn’t explain the amount of relief that surged through him at that statement. “Good.” “That it?” The cool aloof attitude bit at his waning control. No, it wasn’t it. Not even close. Ben must have taken his silence as confirmation, for he gave another shrug and began to walk away. Matthew didn’t care that Ben had several inches on him. Without hesitation, he slammed his hand outward in an effort to keep Ben there against the vehicle. “Fuck no.” The sound rumbled from Matthew’s throat. His left hand was on the car, his right he balled up in the man’s jacket, and he got directly in his face. “I want to fuck you, Ben. I want to be in a relationship with you, but if you’re not on board with that…” he sucked a breath, “you need to tell me now so I can walk away without doing something else to embarrass myself.” Ben leaned in, bringing with him the minty scent of his breath and, somehow, even more of his heat. “Like what?” “Kissing you.” “As opposed to being basically right here between my legs with less sunlight between us than is trying to come through the clouds above us? You want to kiss me, Matthew? Do it.” Matthew didn’t even have to think about it. He did it. Aarne - Excerpt

“It’s about Thumper.” Again, that innocent and trusting face flashed before his eyes. Pain and anger, swelled within his chest. This was supposed to have been something he’d gotten over, moved beyond. Yet day in and day out he was bombarded with memories. “In regards to?” Harry tuned to him, expression one hundred percent serious. Aarne hated all of this. Past Harry’s broad shoulder were his men doing their best not to appear as if they were trying to hear the exchange between them. “There is news about the one who shot him.” Aarne clenched his jaw. “Shot? Thumper was murdered. Don’t make fucking excuses.” The plane touched down with a shudder of her large body. Harry rose. “I’m not. We both know he signed up for this but you are so fucking right. He was murdered. Doesn’t matter.” The man swore and shook his head. “This comes from over my head. I need you to know that.” Irritated now, he grabbed his gear as Ruler tossed him it in his direction. “The point of all this is what?” “Our guide.” He scowled, pieces clicking and him finally seeing the correlation of where this shit fest all led. “Don’t say it. “Don’t you fucking say it.” The ramp lowered and he walked away from his CO before he put a fist in his face. Two SUVs waited and he moved toward them when a man came around the hood and the blood in Aarne’s veins slowed to a crawl. A painful, thorn infested crawl. He’d not wanted to hear it. The words didn’t register because in his mind they should not ever work with someone who killed one of their own. Yet, here he stood facing the bastard who put a bullet in Thumper’s chest. Jakeb Wynn expected a bullet between the eyes or a few in center mass. He prided himself on being a man who didn’t run and didn’t do scared. All of that meant shit right now because the man who walked off that plane was the one who’d been beside the guy, he’d been under orders to shoot. Back then, Jakeb hadn’t asked questions. All he’d done was follow orders like a good little solider. That was then. This is now. And I no longer blindly follow orders. He knew the name of one approaching him because he’d wanted to know the man’s name of the one who had survived, the one he knew would hate him and kill him the first chance he got. Aarne LeVesque. A whole lot of sexy wrapped up in a dark package. He had no doubt right now, those eyes damn near a fathomless black were burning holes in him from behind those aviator sunglasses. Where this any other situation and he would have been hitting on the man, hoping for a chance to spend a night or more with Aarne as a lover. Even now, some nights his dreams morphed and presented him all that stood before him, just naked, hard, and wanting. Him. He didn’t speak, moving his focus beyond the one he wouldn’t ever forget to the man recognizable from the dossier he’d gotten. “Two vehicles,” he said. “I’ll lead you there.” “Gomer?” one from behind asked. Fuck, none of these men were anything he’d like to tangle with and yet his gaze continually drifted back to Aarne. “Two teams, stay sharp.” The older gentleman readjusted the bag around his shoulder and spit to his left. In that moment, Jakeb realized that while the one called Gomer was technically and officially the leader, all of them looked to Aarne, whether or not they recognized that fact. The ones without sunglasses on, glanced at him and the others, if they looked or not, he couldn’t swear to it, but no one moved until the most miniscule head bob came from Aarne. They piled in and he realized that Aarne was in his vehicle. Not in the front beside him but in the back, diagonal to him. Jakeb settled behind the wheel and turned the key. He understood the tactic. Some people wished to be directly in line with their target but he didn’t doubt that Aarne was there so he could watch all his movements. Not to mention, the man had to be a crack shot. Maybe not to his level as a sniper, but a damn good one. The last one in was a young, innocent-esque faced man who got in. Gomer, if that truly was his name, was in the front with him. Checking the mirror, they began driving, he made sure that the following vehicle didn’t have any issues. Not a word was spoken during the long drive. Also, something he understood from his days serving a faceless name in some office, safe from the dangers he was put before. He didn’t push conversation and he was grateful for his own mirrored shades, allowing him to look more often then he should in the mirror, hoping for a glance at the one who wanted to kill him. He slowed for the final turn up to the hut they were using as ground zero. After backing in and waiting for the second vehicle to do the same, he cut the engine and climbed out. “Well, don’t this look fucking cheerful,” one of the guys said as he hopped out of the second set of wheels. “Not much but it’s home. At least for a while.” Jakeb made sure not to look in Aarne’s direction. He wasn’t sure if the other men knew, there wasn’t the hostility coming to him from their direction. Then again, what did he know about their ability to not show their true emotions? “Dig.” Leaning against the hood, Jakeb watched Aarne move towards the one who went by Gomer. Every move was perfect, no expended energy and yet, he looked like a deadly predator. He didn’t verbally respond to the man, just stood before him. Their discussion wasn’t pleasant whatever it was about. Jakeb shoved a hand through his short hair after removing his hat then replaced it. Two of the others approached and he moved from the side and went to meet them. “We’re all crashing in the same place, even though there’s a second hut, there’s bottled water and chow in there if you want any. There are sensors set up half a klick out and I will warn you, we have a lot of poisonous things out here. Typically, the prettier it is, the more deadly.” He rested his hand on the butt of his sidearm. As one they looked at the youngest of the group. “Well, you certainly are the prettiest, but I have to disagree, I highly doubt Ruler is the deadliest here. We all know who that honor goes to.” One of the men teased, he believed it was the one who went by Turtle. “Dig,” they all said as one. The men smiled and fist bumped. Three of them peeled off and headed for the hut. After they had walked off, he took a breath and followed. “Not you.” Jakeb paused, angling his head to see Dig and Gomer walking toward him. “Something you needed?” he asked. “Take Dig here around the perimeter and give him a run down of where and what you’ve learned about the shitstorm we’re heading toward and what the plan is.” “Yes sir,” he said. Aarne checked the magazine of his FN SCAR and made sure it was ready to fire, his expression closed off. “Just us two?” “Gonna be a problem?” Gomer’s voice held an edge. “No sir.” He ran a gaze over the man dressed in jungle fatigues, armed to the teeth, he actually carried two FN SCARs, one ten inch barrel and one fourteen point five. There were knives and a lot more Jakeb was sure he wasn’t seeing. Silence stretched between them. “Why are you ladies standing around?” Gomer pulled out a cigar and smelled it before putting it in his mouth and rolling it. “Move it.” Aarne still hadn’t spoken a word to him. He walked away, assuming the man would either shoot him in the back or follow.
